The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team suffered a setback against Quincy as they lost Thursday's resumed game, followed by Friday's scheduled doubleheader of seven inning games. The Prairie Stars fall to 26-22 overall with a 17-18 record in conference play. The Hawks improve to 24-25 overall with a 21-14 record in GLVC play.

QU wasted no time taking the lead back after the restart, hitting a 3-run home run to take a 5-2 lead

Noah Caceres earned an RBI with a groundout in the sixth to trim the Quincy lead

Quincy responded back with an RBI single to make it 6-3

Ivan Dahlberg hit an RBI double in the seventh to cut into the lead once more

QU added one more insurance run in the eighth with an RBI single

Quincy added on to their lead in the third with an RBI double and sacrifice fly to lead 9-0

UIS wouldn't go down without a fight as the Stars hung a five spot in the fourth inning
