The University of Illinois Springfield men's tennis team fell by a score of 4-2 in a GLVC quarterfinal match against the Southwest Baptist Bearcats on Friday.

The match between the #2W Bearcats and the #3E Prairie Stars started with SBU taking the tightly contested doubles point. 

SBU claimed #1 and #2 singles. Noah Burton fell 4-6, 1-6 in the top spot while All-GLVC first-teamer Ivan Esguerra fell 4-6, 1-6  in #2 singles.

All-GLVC selection Pablo Herrera was successful in #3 singles, winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Bojan Radoman.

Lin En Tan fought hard to win 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 in the #4 spot.

Rafa Rojas dropped his singles match 4-6, 2-6. Matthew Lapsley's #6 singles match was abandoned as SBU clinched the win to advance.

SBU went on to meet UIndy Greyhounds in the semifinal round, in which they would fall by a score of 4-0. UIndy then repeated as GLVC Champions when they defeated the NCAA DII No. 24-ranked Drury Panthers.

UIS ended the season with a 10-6 overall record. The Prairie Stars boasted a 6-1 record at home and went 2-1 at neutral sites.
