The UIS Softball team earned an important split as they look to secure a conference tournament place in rare Thursday GLVC action. The Prairie Stars move to 28-24 on the season with a 12-12 record in conference play. The Flyers move to 34-13 on the season with a 19-5 record in GLVC play.

Rosie Bartletti then reached on an error by the second baseman to give the Stars a 3-0 lead

Lewis responded in the bottom of the first with an RBI single and bunting home a run to trim the Prairie Star lead to 3-2

Isabella Wilson ripped an RBI double in the second inning to give UIS a 4-2 lead

The Flyers responded again in their half of the inning with another RBI single to make it 4-3

In the third Rosie Bartletti hit an RBI triple to right center field as the Stars went up 5-3

UIS opened the game up in the fourth with another three-run inning

Ella Brinkley brought home a run and then advanced to second on a throwing error

Olivia DeLuca earned her second RBI of the day on an error by the shortstop to give UIS an 8-3 lead

The Prairie Stars added another run in the fifth as Katelyn Beagle hit a home run to center field to give UIS a 9-3 lead

Addyson McClure (5-2) earned the win after coming in and pitching 5.0 innings, striking out 5, and only giving up 2 hits
