Biography
Dr. Brandon E. Schwab is the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost at the University of Illinois Springfield. As the university’s chief academic officer, he provides leadership for mission-driven academic and co-curricular endeavors and functions, coordinates academic affairs initiatives and programs with other university divisions, and directs activities surrounding the implementation and achievement of the university’s academic mission. Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Schwab served as Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Western Carolina University (WCU). A first-generation college graduate who grew up in rural north central Ohio, Brandon has a deep understanding of the powerful mission of higher education to transform the lives of students, their families, and broader communities. Dr. Schwab earned his B.S. in Geology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and his Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from the University of Oregon.
