Holly M. Kent’s teaching interests focus on the history of women, gender, and sexuality in the United States. She teaches classes on women’s history, women’s activism, women and gender in the South, family history, slavery and abolition, fashion history, and oral history. She is the editor of Teaching Fashion Studies, the author of Her Voice Will Be on the Side of Right: Gender and Power in Women’s Antebellum Antislavery Fiction, and has published several book chapters and articles about women’s fashion writing in the nineteenth and twenty-first century United States.
