Stephanie Myre received her Master of Music Education from Boston University and her B.A. from De Paul University. She is a National Certified Teacher of music. Ms. Myre founded her own performing arts studio in 1997. Her students have appeared on the professional stages of the Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre, American Girl Revue, Piven Theatre, and Candlelight Playhouse among others. In addition to her private studio, Ms. Myre has taught voice and vocal ensembles and other performance and academic classes at Northeastern Junior College, Illinois Central College, Lincoln College, and Illinois College. Before beginning her career in academia, Ms. Myre spent over a decade performing, teaching, directing, and producing in Chicago. Favorite performing credits include the title role of the critically-acclaimed world premiere of Madame X at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts, Zoot Suit at Chicago's Goodman Theater, Diana in Next to Normal at Cornstock Playhouse, and the title role in Mary Poppins at the Hooglad Center for the Arts. She has served as dramaturg and dialect coach for Chicagoland theatres and founded her own theatre company, AlleyCat Productions, in 1999.
