The UIS volleyball team battled hard but ultimately fell in a five-set match against Maryville on Saturday afternoon at TRAC. With the loss, UIS falls to 9-4 overall and 1-1 in the GLVC, while Maryville improves to 6-6 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

Match Summary
  • Maryville won in five sets; 23-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-13, 17-15
  • The matchup proved to be evenly contested from the start, with UIS claiming the first set 25-23. Makenna Cox spearheaded the attack, contributing four kills to secure the early advantage

  • UIS surged ahead early in the final set, but Maryville rallied to level the score at 12-12. Both teams traded points, maintaining a tie at 15-15 before Maryville pulled ahead, clinching the set 17-15
