On Saturday, Oct. 12, at 9:45 a.m., the UIS men's cross country team will compete in the 8k race at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill. This annual event marks a significant challenge for the Prairie Stars as they face several nationally ranked teams for the first time this season.

Among the competitors are No. 10 Lewis, No. 16 Colorado Christian, No. 18 Saginaw Valley State, and No. 22 Michigan Tech. This meet offers the Prairie Stars a vital opportunity to test their mettle against high-caliber NCAA Division II competition. The Prairie Stars received votes in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll, and a strong performance at this event could help elevate their No. 6 position in regional standings and enhance their chances of earning a national ranking.

The Lewis Crossover presents a chance for the Prairie Stars to make a statement two weeks ahead of the league championship, which they will host at the UIS Cross Country Course on Saturday, Oct. 26.
