The UIS volleyball team picked up another win on Friday night as they swept the Drury Panthers at TRAC. With the win, the Prairie Stars improved to 14-6 overall with a 4-2 record in the GLVC. The Panthers drop to 11-9 overall with a 2-5 conference record. 
 

Match Recap

  • Set 1: The match opened with both teams trading points, as neither could secure early control. The Prairie Stars then surged with a six-point run, taking the lead. Drury rallied to a 23-22 advantage, but UIS scored the final three points, claiming the set 28-26

  • Set 2: The Prairie Stars dominated from the start, opening with a kill by Eirini Glynou and jumping ahead 7-2. UIS capitalized on several Drury errors and stayed sharp defensively, forcing Drury to take two timeouts. An ace by Anna Laincz and a block by Michels helped seal the set, with UIS winning 25-16

  • Set 3: UIS raced to an 11-4 lead in the third set, extending their lead to 20-13 before Drury rallied with a strong ten-point burst, taking a 24-23 lead. However, UIS responded with three consecutive points, securing the set 26-24 behind key plays from Eirini Glynou and Makenna Cox

  • Makenna Cox led the Stars with 12 kills, while Kendall Johnson was right behind with 10 kills. Erica Sledge provided 25 assists, and Carly Michels had 3 service aces. Makenna Cox and Anna Laincz led the team in digs with 18.
