The UIS volleyball team earned a thrilling four-set victory over UMSL on Saturday afternoon to celebrate Senior Day. The Prairie Stars improve to 17-8 overall and 7-4 in GLVC play, while the Tritons drop to 17-7 and 6-5 in conference. With the win, UIS has secured its spot in the GLVC Tournament.

  • Set 1 (W, 28-26): The first set saw both teams trading points before UIS pulled ahead to lead 20-13 with two strong scoring runs. UMSL responded with a run of their own, eventually tying the game at 24 after six straight points. With the set tied at 26, a UMSL service error and attack error handed UIS the opening set victory, 28-26 
  • Set 2 (L, 21-25): UMSL jumped to an early 8-5 lead in the second set, capitalizing on UIS errors to extend it to 13-8. UIS rallied with five consecutive points to tie the set at 13, but UMSL pulled ahead again, holding a narrow 20-15 advantage. Despite UIS's efforts to close the gap, a late service error secured the set for the Tritons
  • Set Three (W, 27-25): UMSL established an early 6-2 lead in the third set and held a 16-11 advantage before UIS rallied, narrowing the gap by scoring six of the next eight points. UMSL reached set point at 24-21, but UIS responded with four consecutive points, including kills from Erica Sledge and Eirini Glynou, to take a 25-24 lead. A UMSL service error and another Glynou kill clinched the set for UIS
  • Set Four (W, 25-22): UMSL jumped to a 15-6 lead in the fourth set, but UIS surged back, scoring 12 of the next 14 points to take an 18-17 lead. After UMSL regained the lead with three straight points, UIS responded with its own three-point run to pull ahead. With the set tied at 22, kills from Makenna Cox and Eirini Glynou secured the set and match, marking the team's first win over UMSL since 2018
  • Eirini Glynou led the Prairie Stars with 18 kills, reaching the 1,000-kill career milestone, while Makenna Cox added 17 kills. Carly Michels contributed 9 kills and 5 blocks, bringing her season total to 79. Erica Sledge recorded 38 assists, and both Glynou and Cox tallied 17 digs. Anna Laincz added 16 digs
