The UIS men's basketball team announced four signees for the 2025-26 season. Joining the Prairie Stars as freshmen in fall 2025 are Lyncoln Koester, Domas Narcevicius, Evan Simon, and Alex Stell.

Lyncoln Koester
Koester hails from nearby Mt. Zion where he plays for Coach Dale Schuring. Last year, the 6-foot-2 guard led his team to a 35-3 season and a trip the IHSA 3A final four. He was named IBCA Second Team All-State and averaged 16 points per game and 5 rebounds and named 2024 WCIA 3 Player of the Year as he set the program record for most points in a single Braves season with 610.

"Lyncoln is a very skilled guard; he can dribble, pass, and shoot," said head coach Matt Brock. "We're very excited to add a player who's used to winning, with 63 wins over the last two years."

Domas Narcevicius
Narcevicius, a 6-foot-6 forward from Stagg High School in Palos Hills, plays for Coach Martin Strus and helped lead his team to 20 wins and a first-place finish in the Southwest Suburban - Red Conference. He averaged 12 points and four rebounds per game, shot over 60% from three-point range, and earned all-conference honors.

"Domas is a versatile forward with a lot of talent on the offensive end," Brock said. "He fits the way the game is going: forward size and guard skill, and we are excited to see him develop at UIS."

Evan Simon
Simon is a 5-foot-11 guard from Kirkwood High School in Missouri, where he plays for Coach Nelson Taylor. As a junior, he was a First Team Suburban Conference selection, averaging 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.

"Evan is a point guard who can really score it," Brock noted. "He understands the game and plays with a high level of feel and IQ. We are very happy to get Evan to Springfield."

Alex Stell
Stell is a 6'10 forward who comes to UIS from Waterloo High School where he plays for Coach Allen Siedle. Stell averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting 54% from the field in 2023-24.

"Alex is our type of big; he has the size and skill set to be an impact player in the GLVC. We are excited to see him grow in a UIS uniform."

Our coaching staff, led by Coach Adam Eberhard, did a terrific job targeting and getting these recruits on our beautiful campus early on. These young men fit us on the court and have the type of character and toughness that our city will be proud to support!"
