The UIS women's basketball team suffered a 70-56 loss to Stephens College in their home opener on Thursday night. With the defeat, the Prairie Stars drop to 0-3 on the season.

• The Stephens Stars quickly established a lead and maintained control throughout the game
• The Prairie Stars managed to keep things close during the first quarter, but a strong shooting performance from Stephens in the second period allowed them to pull away
