The UIS basketball teams hit the road this week for a series of non-conference games during their winter break schedule.

Wednesday, Dec. 18
7:00 p.m. - Men's Basketball at Purdue Northwest
The Prairie Stars (4-6, 1-3 GLVC) travel to Hammond, Ind., to face the Purdue Northwest Pride (2-6, 0-2 GLIAC). UIS claimed an 85-76 victory when the two teams met last season in Springfield. PNW comes into this game following losses to Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. The Prairie Stars, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from a 70-64 defeat against Kentucky Wesleyan, in which four UIS players scored in double figures.

Thursday, Dec. 19
4:30 p.m. Central (5:30 p.m. Eastern) - Women's Basketball at Lake Superior State
The Prairie Stars (0-9, 0-4 GLVC) head to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., to take on Lake Superior State (2-6, 1-1 GLIAC). The Lakers have won two of their last five games, including a close victory over Roosevelt. LSSU has won the last two meetings between these teams, though the all-time series is tied at 4-4.

Friday, Dec. 20
2:00 p.m. Central (3:00 p.m. Eastern) - Women's Basketball at Ferris State
UIS travels to Big Rapids, Mich., for a showdown with the Ferris State Bulldogs (7-2, 2-0 GLIAC). Ferris State, which boasts wins over Lake Superior State and Roosevelt in December, defeated UIS 97-71 in the teams' only previous meeting last season. The Bulldogs will face Hillsdale before their matchup with the Prairie Stars.

4:00 p.m. Central (5:00 p.m. Eastern) - Men's Basketball at Grand Valley State
The Prairie Stars wrap up their road trip in Allendale, Mich., against Grand Valley State (6-2, 2-0 GLIAC). The Lakers are on a three-game win streak with recent victories over Aquinas, Saginaw Valley State, and Wayne State. Last December, UIS won 70-57 in a meeting at TRAC. Before playing UIS, Grand Valley State will face GLVC opponent Indianapolis on the road.

Looking Ahead
After the holiday break, UIS women's basketball returns to TRAC on Thursday, Jan. 2, to host Saint Ambrose.
