The Illinois Springfield women's basketball team fell to Rockhurst, 63-50, on Saturday afternoon at the Mason-Halpin Field House in Kansas City, MO. The Prairie Stars dropped to 3-14 overall and 2-7 in the GLVC, while the Hawks improved to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the GLVC.

- Rockhurst jumped out to a commanding 13-0 lead early, with Rebeca Garcia scoring or assisting on the Hawks' first eight points. UIS finally got on the board with a pair of free throws from Kayla Rice, followed by a layup from Allysia McDaniel, but the Prairie Stars ended the first quarter trailing 18-4.
- In the second quarter, UIS mounted a comeback, determined to erase the slow start. A balanced team effort saw the Prairie Stars fight back to trail 31-19. UIS shot 42.9% from the field, 40% from three-point range, and 75% from the free-throw line in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 38-21 at halftime.
- The second half saw UIS put up a defensive stand against Rockhurst, particularly trying to contain Macie Conway and her three-point shooting.
- UIS managed to get within 13 points midway through the final quarter, but despite shooting 50% in the quarter, couldn't close the gap further.
- UIS shot 32.1% from the field and 25% from three, compared to Rockhurst's 35.1% and 45.5%. Both teams were aggressive defensively, with UIS grabbing 10 steals and Rockhurst 9.
- Kayla Rice led UIS with 18 points, going 7-13 from the field and 2-6 from beyond the arc. Allysia McDaniel contributed 8 points, and Emari Doby added 5 points along with 6 rebounds.
