UIS fell to Lincoln on the road on Saturday, dropping to 10-11 overall and 5-8 in GLVC play. Lincoln improves to 14-6 and 6-6 in the GLVC.

Game Recap
  • The Blue Tigers came out strong, taking a 9-4 lead as UIS struggled with its shooting, starting 1-6 from the field before the first timeout. Lincoln capitalized on a series of three-pointers to build a double-digit lead midway through the first half, while UIS faced shooting woes.
  • Despite these struggles, UIS remained disciplined, not allowing any free throws and making three of its first four attempts. A Jack Weber rebound followed by a hard-fought layup from Tye Banks pulled UIS back within single digits, but Lincoln held a 38-29 lead at the break.
  • The second half started slowly as both teams battled on defense and struggled to find good shot opportunities. The pace of scoring stayed relatively even as the game wore on, but UIS looked for ways to cut into the deficit. Lincoln cooled off from beyond the arc but began to capitalize on free-throw opportunities.
  • UIS turnovers were a factor in the second half, as the Prairie Stars committed six compared to just one by Lincoln. The Blue Tigers converted 18 points off turnovers, while UIS only managed six. Lincoln sealed the game with a dunk to win 75-60.
