The UIS baseball team was picked sixth with 124 points in the GLVC Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches. Per conference rules, coaches are not permitted to vote for their own teams.

Indianapolis was selected as the preseason favorite, earning 12 first-place votes and 194 total points after winning the GLVC regular-season title last year and making back-to-back NCAA World Series appearances.

UIS enters its second season under head coach Trevor Forde following a 26-23 campaign in 2024. The Prairie Stars finished with a 17-19 GLVC record, narrowly missing the postseason.
