Bio:  Jason C. Garnett currently serves as the Chief of Parole for the Illinois Department of Corrections. In his position he oversees the supervision of over 300 parole staff and approximately 27,000 parolees in all 102 counties. Mr. Garnett also interacts with elected officials on current and proposed bills that affect the policies in parole.

A veteran of the Illinois Department of Corrections, he began his career as a correctional officer in 1994 at Centralia Correctional Center. Mr. Garnett has rose through the ranks throughout his career. Prior to becoming the Chief of Parole, Mr. Garnett has held the positions of Warden for two different facilities, Deputy Director of Operations, Deputy Director of Parole, Chief of Parole, and Acting Assistant Director for the Illinois Department of Corrections prior to his current tenure as Chief of Parole.
