The M.S. in Data Analytics provides an interdisciplinary approach to data analytics that covers both the foundational mathematical knowledge of data science and the computational methods and tools for preprocessing, interpreting, analyzing, representing and visualizing data sets. Graduates of the program will have a foundation in data analytics that will prepare them for a professional career or entry into a Ph. D. program.

Program Highlights

Flexibility

Our online master’s degree in data analytics provides the same coursework and campus connectivity as our on-ground students, with the added convenience and flexibility to fit your schedule.

Joint degree

The data analytics degree is jointly administered by the Departments of Computer Science and Mathematical Sciences. The result is an interdisciplinary curriculum that equips students with the mathematical theory and foundations needed to gather and understand the fundamental principles behind the data, the computer science methods, technologies and practical tools to clean and process data sets, find patterns and turn data into useful insights.

Hands-on

Data analytics offers courses with significant hands-on components where students learn to tackle real-world problems through public datasets that are made available by governmental and non-governmental organizations at the state, national and
international levels.

Research opportunities

Data analytics faculty members include students in their research on big data, data mining, machine learning and statistics. Professors bring their scholarly expertise to the classroom and motivate research through literature review assignments, discussion forums and final projects
