WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) Music Program, the UIS Diversity Center and NPR Illinois will host “Lift Every Voice: Collage Concert in Celebration of Black History Month.” The concert is free and open to the public.
WHEN: 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022
WHERE: UIS Performing Arts Center, Sangamon Auditorium
DETAILS: The concert will feature numerous UIS student, faculty, staff and alumni ensembles as well as guest soloists and ensembles including the Union Baptist Church Choir, First United Methodist Church Choir and Lincoln Land Community College Choir. The concert will feature an appearance by Springfield’s Kathryn Harris with opening remarks from UIS Interim Chancellor Karen Whitney.
In addition to the in-person event, the concert will also be streamed live.
The UIS Performing Arts Center is requiring ALL event attendees, regardless of age, to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (including two weeks passing since final injection) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the two days prior to the event. Patrons that are 18 years of age and older will be required to provide a photo ID when presenting their vaccination card or negative COVID-19 test. Face masks are required to be worn.
