Join us at the UIS Colonnade on Saturday, October 14 between 11am - 1pm to view a partial solar eclipse.
Between 11 am - 1 pm the Moon will pass between the Earth and the Sun. In central Illinois we will see the Sun gradually covered by the Moon with maximum coverage (about 60%) occurring just before noon.
We will be distributing FREE eclipse viewing glasses, helping people make pin-hole cameras, and sharing views through our solar telescope. Everyone is welcome.
In case of solid clouds or rain the event will be cancelled. But if there is a chance of seeing the Sun we will be out there to share.
