As you know, this year’s commencement ceremonies will be held on campus in Sangamon Auditorium in the UIS Performing Arts Center. The ceremonies will be as follows:
- Friday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. - Graduates from the College of Health, Science and Technology
- Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m. - Graduates from the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences AND the College of Public Affairs and Education
- Saturday, May 11 at 3:00 p.m. - Graduates from the College of Business and Management
We are thrilled to tell you that we have a 26% increase in the number of graduating students this year. It’s a testament to the tenacity of our students’ commitment to working toward their goals and the ongoing retention efforts from faculty and staff who have supported them on their chosen paths. The commencement committee and numerous UIS employees are working diligently to finalize memorable campus events and ceremonies to honor graduates.
This afternoon those who have submitted their intent to participate will be sent a communication informing them that they can access their tickets via our commencement vendor’s system. Students in the three ceremonies will receive the number of guest tickets they requested, up to a total of four tickets. It is anticipated that one or more ceremonies will have additional guest tickets that will be allocated to students prior to the ceremonies to maximize participation of loved ones in the celebration. Overflow seating with live streaming for guests without tickets will be available in the UIS Studio Theatre, PAC 160, and Brookens Auditorium. The ceremonies will also be live streamed off-campus and on screens across campus, including in the Student Union. Tickets will not be required in overflow seating areas.
We eagerly anticipate welcoming our graduates and their guests to campus on May 10 and 11, reaffirming UIS’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting student success. Additional information is available on the UIS Commencement website. Any questions related to ticketing or other commencement-related matters should be directed to commencement@uis.edu.
