Carlene Hindert has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for May 2024. She is a human resources associate in the Human Resources Department.

Her supervisor, Melisa Hatch, said that Hindert is knowledgeable and resourceful.

“Carlene is a wealth of knowledge and a subject matter expert on many things. Even I go to her for help in some areas,” Hatch said. “She anticipates problems, based on her years of experience, and provides a lot of detail in her solutions to overcome any potential obstacles. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will find it!” 

Hindert's nominator praised her for being an extraordinary asset to UIS.

“She is a conscientious and tireless employee, often working long hours and weekends to ensure that the campus receives timely and accurate service,” her nominator said. “She is also a great supporter of UIS and can often be seen wearing her UIS gear around campus.”

Hindert is also known for her mentorship and collaboration with her colleagues. 

“I would call Carlene the ultimate team player,” Hatch said. “She is eager to help and assist everyone and she is a go to for the other staff in any times of need.”
