Clarissa Richardson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Florida. Dr. Richardson and her lab conduct research related to stress, coping, and mental health, with a focus on understanding factors that impact the HPA axis (physiological stress response). Many of her research projects have focused on the impact of perfectionism on mental health. Her research also focuses on addressing rural mental health disparities using community-based research paradigms, with a focus on improving access to mental health resources and reducing stigma in rural areas.
