- Purpose: This day symbolizes that even in our most relaxed moments, we are part of the ongoing legacy at UIS. It emphasizes self-care and well-being, important aspects of sustaining a long-term legacy.
Tuesday, Sept. 24
- Legacy in Action (Jersey Day)
- Theme: Wear your favorite sports jersey.
- Purpose: Represent teamwork, dedication, and the spirit of competition—qualities that contribute to a lasting legacy. This day encourages everyone to showcase their favorite teams, symbolizing how different strengths contribute to the UIS community.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
- Ignite Awareness (Wear Gold Day)
- Theme: Wear gold to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
- Purpose: This day is dedicated to raising awareness for childhood cancer, showing that the UIS legacy includes compassion and activism. By wearing gold, the community stands in solidarity with those affected by childhood cancer, helping to ignite awareness and make a difference.
Thursday, Sept. 26
- Legacy of Leadership (Rep Your Org Day)
- Theme: Wear apparel from your student/professional organizations.
- Purpose: Highlight the diverse groups that contribute to the vibrant legacy of UIS. This day showcases how involvement in campus or community organizations ignites leadership and builds a lasting impact on the university and beyond. Faculty, staff, and alumni can participate by dressing in attire that represents their profession or current organizations beyond UIS.
Friday, Sept. 27
- Ignite the Spirit (School Spirit Day)
- Theme: Wear your UIS colors (navy and white) and Prairie Stars gear.
- Purpose: This day is all about igniting school spirit and coming together as a community to celebrate the shared legacy of being part of UIS. It’s a day for showing pride in your school and participating in activities that boost campus unity and energy.
