Congratulations to the following faculty members who will speak this year at the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress. SRI is an annual global event focused on action-oriented, knowledge-based and inclusive approaches to sustainability

Hei-Chi Chan, associate professor of Mathematical Sciences and Philosophy, Anne-Marie Hanson, interim associate dean for the College of Health, Science and Technology; and Neetu Singh, associate professor of Management Information Systems; who will host a workshop called AI 4 Inclusive Sustainability: Empowering Grassroots Initiatives.

Michael Chuang, associate professor of Management Information Systems, will help host a session called Innovations for Enhancing Circular Economy Solutions

Brandon Derman, associate professor in the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability and Public Health; Megan Styles, associate professor in the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability and Public Health; Kyle Blount, associate professor in the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability and Public Health; and Hua Chen, professor in the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability and Public Health; who will host a session called Assessing and building climate resilience in transdisciplinary perspective: Generalizing criteria from a U.S. Midwest community.

The Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress will be held June 16-19 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk and online and is hosted by the University of Illinois System. This will be the first time the event is held in the United States. Registration is still open with early bird savings extended through May 15.

SRI2025 will spotlight Pathways to Sustainability Solutions, sharing implementation strategies and legacies of successful approaches to critical sustainability concerns facing Chicago, the United States and the globe. It will also provide opportunities to overcome engagement, policy, resourcing and other hurdles that slow our transformation to more resilient and equitable futures.
