The UIS women's golf team began its fall season on Monday, eager to build on last year's success and continue their pursuit of excellence on the course. As the action heats up, the Prairie Stars volleyball team continues non-conference action at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. The UIS soccer teams each play midweek non-conference matches before facing their first GLVC opponent, William Jewell, on Sunday. Meanwhile, both the men's and women's cross country teams, along with the men's golf team, are taking the week off from competition as they prepare for their next events which are set to take place later in the month of September.
Monday, Sept. 9
All Day - Women's Golf at Midwest Ladies Collegiate
The UMSL Tritons are hosting the Midwest Ladies Collegiate at Rock Hollow G.C. in Peru, Ind. There, the Prairie Stars will face a number of important conference and non-conference opponents such as Findlay, Indianapolis, and Tiffin.
Tuesday, Sept. 10
All Day - Women's Golf at Midwest Ladies Collegiate
The teams will play the final 18-hole round of UMSL's fall tournament.
Wednesday, Sept. 11
1:00 p.m. CT (2:00 p.m. ET) - Women's Soccer at Ohio Dominican University
UIS is set to take on ODU in their final non-conference game. The Prairie Stars are 0-1-1 while the Panthers are off to an 0-2 start.
Thursday, Sept. 12
12:00 p.m. - Men's Soccer vs. University of Wisconsin-Parkside (HOME)
The Prairie Stars host the Rangers for an afternoon game at Kiwanis Stadium. UIS is 0-1 after a loss to Purdue Northwest while Parkside is 1-0-1. Both teams were NCAA Tournament qualifiers in 2023.
Friday, Sept. 13
12:00 p.m. - Volleyball vs. Minnesota State University-Mankato (Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational)
The Prairie Stars and the Mavericks are set for their second-ever meeting. It will be the first match of the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational for both teams, and the end of a 4-0 win streak for one.
3:00 p.m. - Softball vs. Spoon River College (HOME)
UIS hosts Spoon River for a fall season matchup.
7:00 p.m. - Volleyball vs. Kentucky Wesleyan College (Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational)
The Prairie Stars take on the host school at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational. The Panthers are 0-4 after this past weekend's UIndy Invitational.
Saturday, Sept. 14
All Day - Women's Tennis at ITA Regional
The Prairie Stars travel to Allendale, Mich. for the ITA's Small College Regional Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.
9:00 a.m. - Volleyball vs. University of West Alabama
The Prairie Stars face the UWA Tigers out of the Gulf South Conference, a team they have not met since a loss in the 2016 season. The Tigers are currently 0-4, and will face Thomas More and Lake Superior State before they play UIS.
3:00 p.m. Volleyball vs. Thomas More University
UIS takes on the Thomas More Saints of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for the first time in program history. The Saints are currently 2-2 and will play West Alabama, Lake Superior State, and UIndy ahead of their match against UIS.
Sunday, Sept. 15
All Day - Women's Tennis at ITA Regional
The Prairie Stars travel to Allendale, Mich. for the ITA's Small College Regional Championships hosted by Grand Valley State University.
12:00 p.m. - Women's Soccer at William Jewell College (GLVC)
The first GLVC test of the season comes on the road against the William Jewell Cardinals. The 1-1 Cardinals have scored two goals this season, but allowed four. WJC will play Missouri Western on Thursday before hosting UIS on Sunday. The Cardinals were voted 14th in the GLVC preseason poll, behind the seventh-selected Prairie Stars.
2:30 p.m. - Men's Soccer at William Jewell College (GLVC)
GLVC play begins on Sunday against the Cardinals of William Jewell in Liberty, Mo. WJC played to a draw with Colorado Christian on Friday before defeating South Dakota Mines on Sunday. The league's head coaches picked the Cardinals to finish 14th of 15 teams in the league this season while the Prairie Stars were voted fifth just one year after winning the league's regular season title.
