2025 IIN Social Innovation Workshop
Join CSPL and the Illinois Innovation Network for a Social Innovation Workshop at the UIS Student Union Ballroom and on Zoom! Learn design thinking principles that will help prepare a competitive application for up to $100,000 in IIN Social Innovation and Impact seed grant funding.
The Illinois Innovation Network drives inclusive and integrated research, innovation, and economic development across Illinois. IIN hubs combine research, public-private partnerships, entrepreneurship, and workforce training programs to spur inclusive economic development regionally and throughout the state. Special thanks to the Social Innovation Subcommittee for spearheading this event.
This workshop will guide participants to:
- Key Components: Develop a strong, well-informed proposal and strengthen their funding application for greater effectiveness
- Consulting Expertise: Gain insights from previous social innovation seed funding awardees on successful projects that address complex social challenges, build community capacity and partnerships, and serve as scalable models for other communities
- Funding Opportunity: Up to $100,000 per project for 2-3 awardees
- Proposal submission deadline: March 30, 2025
- Expected project start date: July 1, 2025
- Eligibility: All IIN hubs are eligible to apply
You'll hear from speakers with the Siebel Center for Design, the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, and the Office of Broadband. This hybrid event is free to attend. Registration opens at 9:00 am with a continental breakfast, and the program begins at 10:00 am. Registrants will receive a social innovation workbook and social entrepreneur workbook, and lunch will be provided.
