From 11:00am to 12:30pm on Friday, April 11th students from UIS will present posters of their research or specimens of their art work and meet with visitors to the Student Technology, Arts, and Research Symposium. The poster and art exhibition takes place just outside the main central ballroom in the UIS Student Union.
The Posters & Art exhibition is followed at 12:30pm by a luncheon and keynote speech by Dr. Aleksander Ksiazkiewicz "Sleepy Citizenship: The Biopolitics of rest in American democracy". Persons who have registered in advance for the STARS symposium (mainly students presenting their work and their faculty sponsors) attend the luncheon and keynote speaker.
At 1:30pm, the university will present the Outstanding Master's Thesis Award
Following that, at approximately 2:00pm, the university will proudly present the 2025 Faculty Mentor Awards
Following that, at approximately 2:30pm, the STARS Committee will present awards to students for best oral presentation, best poster presentation, best art piece, and so forth.
