The UIS men's basketball program has released its schedule for the 2024-25 season, featuring 20 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) games and 9 non-conference matchups. Head Coach Matt Brock, entering his sixth season with a 71-66 record, will lead the Prairie Stars through a competitive slate.

"We have put together another strong non-conference schedule to mirror the challenge of the GLVC regular season," said Brock. "Eleven games feature opponents who have played in the NCAA tournament in the last two years. We play three national championship programs, two of which have won multiple titles. This is the toughest schedule that we have ever faced and we are excited for the opportunity!"

The Regular Season
UIS will start the season against Roosevelt and Parkside when they host the annual regional crossover tournament at The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) on Nov. 9-10.

The Prairie Stars will play three more non-conference road games before starting their GLVC schedule. First, UIS will travel north to meet Northern Michigan before playing Central Missouri and Union at the Drury Thanksgiving Classic in Springfield, Mo.

GLVC play begins at home on Nov. 30 against Missouri-St. Louis. The conference schedule consists of 20 games, with each team playing every opponent once and a select six teams twice. UIS will face Missouri-St. Louis, William Jewell, McKendree, Maryville, Rockhurst, and Indianapolis twice during the season.

The Prairie Stars will host Kentucky Wesleyan at TRAC on Dec. 11 to start the winter break. They will also play non-conference games against Purdue Northwest and Grand Valley State before resuming GLVC action at Indianapolis on Jan. 5.

The Postseason
The GLVC Tournament is set for March 6-9 at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. UIS qualified for the tournament last season but was defeated 76-70 by Lewis.

The NCAA Regional Tournament is set for March 24-18 and the NCAA Elite Eight will take place on March 25-29.

In 2023-24
UIS tied for second place in the GLVC preseason coaches' poll last year, earning one first-place vote. The Prairie Stars finished sixth in the league with an 11-9 conference record and an overall mark of 18-13. Highlights included wins over Purdue Northwest, Grand Valley State, and Missouri Southern. The Prairie Stars have appeared in the GLVC Tournament for two consecutive seasons.
