Dear UIS Community Members:
Maintaining a safe campus is an important responsibility the entire UIS community takes seriously.
In compliance with federal regulations and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Crime Statistics Act, the 2024 UIS Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is now available. In the coming weeks, a hard copy can be viewed by visiting the UIS Police Department, 2285 Eliza Farnham Drive; UIS Innovate Springfield, 15 S. Old State Capitol Plaza; or UIS Peoria at Illinois Central College, East Peoria Campus, 1 College Drive, Room 303B, East Peoria, IL. The Daily Crime Log is also available upon request at the front counter of the UIS Police Department and the ICC Campus Police department for each respective location.
The report includes crime statistics and residence hall fire statistics for the previous three years (2021-23) as well as institutional policies and procedures on campus security and crime prevention. Statistics for the current calendar year (2024) will appear in next year’s report.
In addition to reviewing the report, you can take other steps to enhance safety on our campus:
- Read about campus safety measures
- Read important safety information related to living on campus at UIS
- Sign up for UIS-Alert text messages on our Emergency Notification System page
- Review sexual violence and misconduct resources available to the campus community
- Review the university’s Active Shooter Response plan
I hope that you use this information to promote your own awareness. Together, we can continue to make the campus community a safer place where education, research and public service can flourish.
