U of I System Support for AI Initiatives

Thanks to a $20 million investment from the University of Illinois System, along with a $30 million investment from UIUC, the Illinois Computes program offers “computing and data storage resources, technical expertise and support services to researchers from all domains across the U of I System who also may have a broad range of needs, whether they be simple or more complex.” Chuck Thompson, Director of Illinois Computes, is leading this effort and has already visited UIS to talk with us about our needs and how his program can help support UIS. We encourage you to reach out to Kara McElwrath (kmcel2@uis.edu) so that UIS can leverage these resources. She will help connect you to the right resources at Illinois Computes to support your teaching and research efforts.
