Alex Rankin chose the University of Illinois Springfield because of its proximity to the Illinois State Capitol and potential internship opportunities. Rankin is president of Model Illinois Government and the Political Understanding and Activist Club. He also serves as vice president of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, Speaker of the House for Model Illinois Government and is an intern for the Illinois Innocence Project. Outside of his extracurricular activities, Rankin is a student worker at the Student Union and a teacher assistant for the UIS School of Politics and International Affairs. Rankin's favorite part of UIS is the amount of student organizations and events on campus. Following graduation, he plans to attend law school to study criminal law.
