Arthur Figuiere enters the 2024-25 school year as the UIS tennis program's assistant coach after volunteering with the team in 2023-24. He has joined Head Coach Ross Graham on the staff.

"We could not be more excited to have Arthur join our tennis program at UIS!" said Graham. "He brings a wealth of experience as an outstanding player for us two years ago and as a volunteer assistant last year. He will be a valuable asset to the UIS tennis program!"

Figuiere completed his undergraduate degree at College of Coastal Georgia, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Sports Management in 2022. He then earned his Master's degree in Business Administration from UIS in 2024.

"I am honored to start my coaching career at the University of Illinois Springfield," Figuiere said. "I had the opportunity to protect the Prairie as a player, and I cannot wait to do it as a coach. My six years of college tennis taught me valuable lessons, and I will bring my experience to help guide and inspire our team. We have a talented and diverse group with excellent international representation, creating a fantastic team spirit. I am confident we will accomplish great things together, both on and off the court."

In his collegiate career at Coastal Georgia and UIS, Figuiere was named team MVP three times, an Atlantic Region Champion, First Team All-Conference, and a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.

He has previously worked as a tennis head pro in Sea Island, Georgia in 2022 and Southampton, New York from 2020 to 2022. Figuiere also has worked for Global College USA to scout and place international athletes in American universities.
