UIS junior distance runner Madelyn Miller has officially qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, set to take place March 13-15 at the Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Miller is one of 19 athletes competing in the women's 5,000-meter run, marking her first-ever appearance at a national championship.

Miller will race at 5:15 p.m. CT on March 13, competing against top athletes from programs like Lewis, Adams State, Colorado Mines, and Grand Valley State. She earned her spot at nationals by running a time of 16:37.46 at the GVSU Big Meet on February 14. Although two weeks remained in the regular season for qualifying times, Miller's performance ultimately secured her spot at the national championship. At the time, her school record mark ranked among the NCAA DII top 10 and now stands as the 16th-best time in the nation for the season.

Miller also secured a runner-up finish in the same event at the recent GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships, posting a time of 17:19.44 to earn All-GLVC honors in track & field for the first time.

The 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field Championships will be the first held in Indianapolis, adding to a bustling championship festival from March 11-15. In addition to indoor track & field, events for swimming, diving, and men's wrestling will also take place in Indianapolis during this time. The meet will be streamed live on NCAA.com, with live results available throughout the competition. Tickets can be purchased online.
