The Illinois Springfield women's basketball team will close out the regular season this week with a pair of home games at TRAC. The Prairie Stars host William Jewell on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Rockhurst on Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.

Illinois Springfield (5-21, 4-14 GLVC)
UIS is looking to snap a losing streak that dates back to Feb. 1 after falling to Upper Iowa and No. 21 Lewis last weekend.

The Prairie Stars were competitive in the first quarter against Upper Iowa before the Peacocks pulled away with a 20-9 second quarter. UIS struggled offensively in the second half and ultimately fell 77-53 on the road.

Against Lewis, UIS trailed 24-12 after the first quarter but cut the deficit to 10 at halftime. The Flyers took control in the second half, using strong shooting to secure a 78-52 win on their Senior Day.

William Jewell (6-18, 4-14 GLVC)
William Jewell split its games last weekend, falling 73-61 to Missouri-St. Louis before defeating Lincoln 71-49.

The Cardinals trailed early against UMSL but used a 15-4 run to pull within one at halftime. However, the Tritons controlled the third quarter and closed out the game.

In the Senior Day victory over Lincoln, Kate Hillyer led William Jewell with 27 points. After a back-and-forth first half, the Cardinals surged ahead with a strong third quarter and sealed the win at the free-throw line.

Rockhurst (9-15, 7-11 GLVC)
Rockhurst visits UIS on Saturday following a dominant 78-50 win over Lincoln and a 65-60 victory against Missouri S&T.

Against Lincoln, the Hawks shot 63.2% from the field and exploded for 32 points in the second quarter to take a 40-16 halftime lead. They maintained control the rest of the way to win by 28.

Keegan Sullivan scored 28 points in Rockhurst's win over Missouri S&T, making six three-pointers in her final home game. The Hawks built an early lead, but Missouri S&T battled back to make it a three-point game with six minutes remaining. Rockhurst secured the win at the free-throw line.

The Hawks defeated UIS 63-50 in their previous meeting on Jan. 18 in Kansas City.

GLVC Point Rating System
As of Feb. 24, UIS ranks 13th in the GLVC Point Rating System (2.39), while William Jewell is 14th (2.33). Rockhurst is tied for 10th with Indianapolis (2.72) entering the final week of the regular season.
