The Illinois Springfield women's basketball team goes on the road this week with matchups against Upper Iowa on Thursday and No. 22 Lewis on Saturday.

Illinois Springfield (5-19, 4-12 GLVC)
UIS is coming off a narrow 80-78 overtime loss to Indianapolis last Thursday. The Prairie Stars controlled the game through three quarters, but UIndy outscored them 23-15 in the fourth to force overtime with a late three-pointer. In the extra period, both teams were even at the free-throw line, but the Greyhounds secured the win with one additional field goal. UIS ranks 13th in the GLVC PRS standings heading into the week.

Upper Iowa (11-12, 8-9 GLVC)
Upper Iowa split last week's games, defeating Maryville 54-52 on Thursday before falling 76-49 to UMSL on Saturday. The Peacocks took control against Maryville with a strong third quarter, outscoring the Saints 15-9. However, Maryville responded with a 17-9 fourth-quarter push, but Upper Iowa held on for the win. Against UMSL, the Peacocks struggled offensively and were outscored 20-5 in the second quarter, leading to a 27-point loss. Upper Iowa currently ranks eighth in the GLVC PRS standings as the postseason approaches.

No. 22 Lewis (21-2, 15-1 GLVC)
Lewis enters the week riding an eight-game winning streak, with its last loss coming on Jan. 18 against Truman State. The Flyers earned a 56-51 victory over McKendree last Thursday before securing a narrow 76-75 win over Maryville on Saturday. Against the Saints, Lewis guard Taylor Gugliuzza led all scorers with 27 points. The Flyers lead the GLVC standings with a 15-1 conference record and a 4.66 PRS rating, having already clinched a spot in the conference tournament.
