Illinois Springfield senior outfielder Ty Hollandsworth has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Hollandsworth, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., batted .571 (4-for-7) in two games on Sunday, the first half of the Prairie Stars' series against Northwood. He posted a .625 on-base percentage and demonstrated impressive power with three home runs for a 1.857 slugging percentage. Hollandsworth drove in five runs, scoring four.

The highlight of Hollandsworth's week came in the Prairie Stars' 12-11 extra-inning victory over Northwood on Feb. 23, where he went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs. His two-run blast in the bottom of the ninth sent the game into extra innings.

This is Hollandsworth's first career GLVC Player of the Week award. The last Prairie Stars player to earn the honor was Ethan Bowers on Feb. 10.
