The Illinois Springfield baseball team is set to take on Thomas More in a doubleheader on Friday in Florence, Ky. Game one is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Central (noon Eastern), with the second game following around 2:30 p.m. Central (3:30 p.m. Eastern).

Illinois Springfield (3-5)
UIS enters the matchup with a 3-5 record after winning one of four games in a series against Northwood earlier this week. The Prairie Stars claimed a thrilling extra-inning victory in the series opener, overcoming multiple deficits to tie the game 11-11 on a two-run homer by GLVC Player of the Week Ty Hollandsworth. In the 10th inning, Ethan Bowers delivered a walk-off double to seal a 12-11 win.

Despite the winning start, UIS dropped the remaining three games, falling 10-3 and 4-2 in the seven-inning middle contests before closing the series with a 12-5 loss.
On the mound, Adam Wibbenmeyer earned the team's lone win last week, allowing just one hit across three innings while striking out three batters. Hollandsworth has been a key offensive leader for UIS, posting a .464 batting average with a .964 slugging percentage and a .531 on-base percentage over 28 at-bats. Bowers is hitting .346, while Jackson Blemler also remains above .300 with a .323 average.

Thomas More (3-2)
The Saints come into the doubleheader with a 3-2 record. They started the season strong with back-to-back wins against West Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1 and 4-0, before the remainder of the series was canceled.

Last weekend, Thomas More played a three-game series against Lake Erie, where they dropped the opener 11-3, secured a 7-6 win in game two, and fell 7-0 in the series finale.

On the mound, Austin Dennis and Jack Perdue have each recorded wins, with Perdue throwing a seven-inning complete game shutout against West Virginia Wesleyan. Offensively, Miguel Correa Jr. leads the Saints with a .667 batting average on 12 at-bats, while Gavin Vogelsang is hitting .500 in 16 at-bats.
