The UIS men's tennis team came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Hillsdale on Sunday, dropping to 0-5 on the season in what was its closest match so far in 2025.

- Viktor Karpati and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel fell 7-5 at No. 1, while Lin En Tan and Lukas Pieringer lost 6-1 at No. 2. Pablo Herrera and Jorge Roman secured a 6-1 win at No. 3, but it was not enough to claim the doubles point.
- In singles action, Karpati delivered a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 win at No. 1.
- Ayerbe Streubel battled back from a first-set deficit to win 6-7, 7-4, 6-0 at No. 3, while Tan earned a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 victory at No. 4.
- Herrera fell in a three-set contest at No. 2 (6-7, 6-4, 6-4), Pieringer was edged 6-3, 7-6 at No. 5, and Roman lost 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 6 as Hillsdale secured the team win.
The Prairie Stars head to Bristol, Tenn., to take on King University on Saturday, March 8.
