The UIS men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Southwest Baptist on Friday afternoon, moving to 0-3 on the season.

- Southwest Baptist swept the doubles matches, despite strong efforts from the Prairie Stars. Viktor Karpati and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel battled to a narrow 7-6 loss at No. 1 doubles, while Lin En Tan and Lukas Pieringer fell 6-4 at No. 2. Pablo Herrera and Jorge Roman also came up short, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles.
- In singles play, Lin En Tan earned the lone victory for UIS, securing his first singles win of the season in a hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 match at No. 4.
- Viktor Karpati went three sets at No. 1 before falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. Pablo Herrera came close in the second set but lost 6-3, 7-6 at No. 2.
- Antonio Ayerbe Streubel dropped a 6-3, 6-4 match at No. 3, while Lukas Pieringer fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5. Jorge Roman forced a third-set tiebreak but ultimately fell 6-7, 6-2, 10-3 at No. 6.
The Prairie Stars return to action with two more matches this weekend, facing Tiffin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and Hillsdale at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday.
