The UIS women's basketball team suffered a 78-52 loss to No. 21-ranked Lewis on Saturday afternoon in Romeoville, Ill. With the defeat, the Prairie Stars drop to 5-21 overall and 4-14 in GLVC play, while Lewis improves to 23-2 overall and 17-1 in conference play.

- Lewis, the current top team in the GLVC, set the tone early, scoring the first 11 points of the game before Makenna Yeager responded with a layup through traffic. The contest quickly became a rapid back-and-forth battle as both teams avoided fouling, though Lewis built an early advantage, leading 14-4 midway through the opening exchanges. UIS grabbed a spark when a fastbreak layup following a Lewis turnover capped a 24-12 first quarter.
- In the second quarter, Lewis stretched their lead to 15 points, but UIS kept knocking down shots, frequently finding Diavian Mehundrew and Allysia McDaniel for key opportunities. Offensive pressure by the Stars forced more turnovers from Lewis, 11 in the first half, allowing the Stars to claw back within 10 points before a scoring drought left the halftime score at 39-29.
- UIS finished the half shooting 39.4% overall and 22.2% from three, compared to 53.6% and 57.1% by Lewis.
- In the third quarter, Lewis leader Taylor Gugliuzza was unstoppable from downtown, hitting three triples to help Lewis outscore UIS 20-9 and grow its lead to 20 points.
- Lewis turned up the heat in the final period, shooting 57.1% from the field and controlling the boards with an 11-7 rebounding edge. The Flyers maintained their momentum and sealed the 78-52 victory on Senior Day.
- UIS shot 32.8% from the field and 17.6% from three-point range while converting 81.8% of its free throws.
- Allysia McDaniel led the Prairie Stars with 11 points, knocking down five field goals and a free throw while adding six rebounds in 30 minutes. Emari Doby contributed 10 points, and Diavian Mehundrew followed with nine.
The Prairie Stars will look to rebound at home next week against William Jewell and Rockhurst.
