Jake Baldin of UIS men's golf has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week after his standout performance at the Flyers Fall Intercollegiate tournament at the start of the week, where he tied for second place. His exceptional play was a crucial factor in helping the UIS men's golf team finish tied for fourth out of 17 teams.
Baldin carded four birdies in the first round and added two more in the second, while also recording ten pars per round.
He has now been the top Prairie Star in three of the team's four completed fall tournaments.
It is Baldin's career-first GLVC weekly award. The last GLVC Player of the Week from the UIS men's golf program was Alex Seibal on March 13, 2024.UIS men's golf will close out the fall season at the Bill Crabtree Invitational in Owensboro, Ky. on Oct. 28-29.
