Catherine Anderson of McHenry, a senior at McHenry High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2022 and awarded a $4,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, she will major in communication.

The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.

At McHenry High School, she is a member of the Key Club.

“(UIS) reminds me of home and the school environment is great,” she said. “I feel like it is a place I can call home.”

Following graduation from UIS, she would like to work as a reporter or a radio host.

All undergraduate first year students are automatically eligible for Lincoln Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are automatically applied upon admission and are based solely on high school GPA. In order to receive $4,000 over four years, the student must have an unweighted GPA of 3.00-3.19.
