The 2024 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year were announced on Wednesday morning. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
Sophomore Catcher Ivan Dahlberg earned his career-first All-Region honors when he was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II Midwest All-Region Second Team. Dahlberg played in 46 games this season, hitting .326 with 45 hits, and team-leading 50 RBIs, 49 runs scored, and 13 home runs. He was in the top-10 in the GLVC in slugging percentage (.688), on base percentage (.503), OPS (1.191), and walks (41). The everyday catcher made just two errors on the season for a fielding percentage of .994.
Dahlberg's best performance of the season came during the home series against Missouri S&T. In the series, Dahlberg batted .533 (8-for-15) with a .619 on-base percentage in four games. He tallied three doubles and three home runs for a 1.333 slugging percentage, driving in 10 runs and scoring 11 during the series. His weekend was highlighted by his performance in the final game of the series, going 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs. He was selected as the GLVC Player of the Week as a result.
Dahlberg was recently selected First Team All-GLVC for the first all-conference honors of his career.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
