Elijah Jones chose the University of Illinois Springfield because of its location and affordability. On campus, he is president of the Black Male Collegiate Society and the Picture Perfect Modeling Troupe. He also works for UIS Campus Recreation and serves as a peer mentor to several students on campus. “I like how easy it is to connect with others around campus, and in the Springfield-area as a whole,” he said. Following graduation, he plans to work in public relations at some form of school and have a side business in event planning.
