"It seems students have been having issues with the new FAFSA this year ever since it became available in January.
Delays, however, in the FAFSA process are leaving some students in limbo especially heading into the summer months when deciding where to go to school.
There have been many complaints about students not receiving as much money as well as experiencing delays when it comes to receiving financial awards.
Newschannel 20 talked to a financial aid director on what to do to navigate these challenges.
“This year has definitely been a challenge," said Laci Engelbrecht, director of financial aid for the University of Illinois Springfield."
