Inspections for July

Inspections are on the calendar in July for elevators and fire alarm systems.

Campus-wide elevator inspections are scheduled for the week of July 1. Individual elevators will be taken out of service briefly during the inspection process. Please be mindful of posted signs as they will indicate when an elevator is temporarily unavailable. Any schedule changes will be shared with the campus community.

Fire alarm inspections are tentatively scheduled for the week of July 8. A firm schedule will be shared once it is available. Watch Campus Announcements, Orbit, and the F&S webpage for updates.

New Plantings at Brookens

Landscaping improvements have been made across campus this spring. A notable addition is the native wildflower bed between Brookens Library and the Health and Sciences building. This garden will beautify the space and play a crucial role in preserving our native flora and fauna. A variety of plants indigenous to our area will support local wildlife and promote diversity. 

Congratulations, Frank!

Frank Moscardelli was recognized with the Student Affairs Kudos Award for his exceptional assistance to Campus Recreation.

Frank played a crucial role in safely transporting two new basketball hoops from a tractor-trailer to their final destination at TRAC. His nominator noted, "It definitely was not a typical job you think of when you think about Grounds. We greatly appreciate Frank and his work to make this happen!"

Welcome, Mike!

Mike Huff recently joined the Steam and Power Plant crew. Mike has a wealth of experience in the operation of boiler and chiller systems, making him a perfect fit.

Welcome, Trevor!

Trevor Thompson is our newest Building Service Worker. He joined F&S as an Extra Help BSW in January and was recently hired as a permanent, full-time employee. 

You will find Trevor working in UHB, so please share a warm welcome when you see him.
