Recommended action for discontinuation of Adobe Creative Cloud synced files on Feb 3, 2025
Adobe is discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files. If you don’t use Creative Cloud Synced Files, you will not be affected.
If you are unsure whether your Adobe assets are impacted, check to see if you have synced files online here:
- Understand the differences between Adobe Cloud Documents and synced files. You will not lose access to your Adobe Cloud Documents.
- Please read the Adobe Synced Files discontinuation notice from Adobe for full details and how to download a copy of your files.
Recommended Steps for Synced File Users
It is recommended that you make sure your assets are safely backed up either locally or through a U of I cloud storage provider such as Microsoft One Drive or Box. You should also check your Creative Cloud Desktop version and update versions less than 6.4 to the latest version (6.5.0.348). Versions of CC Desktop less than 6.4 will not keep a copy of the synced files on the local device.
Last Chance Option:
Adobe has provided a failsafe option to download discontinued Synced files which will be available until March 3, 2025. This will give you the opportunity to download a zipped file of your Synced content to a local device. After March 3, 2025, this last chance option will no longer be available.
