Dear Campus Community,
We’re writing to remind everyone about the importance of adhering to our campus parking regulations, specifically regarding the use of parking hang tags.
Key points to remember:
- Display your parking permit: All vehicles parked on university property must display a valid UIS parking permit. Hang your permit from your rearview mirror with the permit number visible from outside the vehicle.
- Park in designated areas: Your permit type determines where you can park. Please familiarize yourself with the designated lots for your permit:
- Economy (yellow): Valid in any economy parking lot.
- Standard (blue): Valid in any standard or economy parking lot.
- PERKS: Valid in designated parking space that corresponds to the hang tag number. Also valid in standard and economy lots.
- Residential: Valid in the residential lot specified on the hang tag. Also valid in Lot I-South and Lot J.
- Consequences of violations: Improper parking may result in ticketing and fines.
By following these guidelines, you help ensure fair access to parking for all members of our campus community and avoid unnecessary penalties.
If you have any questions about parking, please contact us at (217) 206-8502 or parking@uis.edu.
Thank you for your cooperation in making our campus parking system work efficiently for everyone.
