Dear Colleagues,
As we complete the transition to our new Course Survey App (launched Intersession 2024-25), we want to let you know of an important deadline for accessing historical course evaluation student comments (Fall 2024 and earlier).
- August 15, 2025 - Last day for instructors to download student comments from the outgoing course evaluation system.
After this date, the former system will no longer be maintained due to security vulnerabilities, and student comments will no longer be available for download. Please ensure you download any comments you wish to retain before this deadline if you have not already done so.
Other transition details
- Archived cumulative summary reports: A cumulative summary PDF report has been downloaded from the outgoing system for each full-time instructor, and these are being added to full-time faculty personnel files this spring. Student comments from the outgoing course evaluation system are not included in these files.
- Downloading student comments:
- Access the outgoing Course Evaluation Reports system.
- In the “Instructor Report” section at the top of the page, select semester and course, then select the dark blue “Generate Report” button. It may take a moment or two for the system to refresh and display your report.
- Comments, if any, will be displayed at the bottom of the report, below the quantitative data.
- Some tips for copying/saving comments:
- To print an entire report – hard copy or PDF: With your cursor on the downloaded report, select “control” and “P” (PC) or “command” and “P” (Mac) on your keyboard/keypad to print.
- To print or copy student comments only: Select the comments, right click, and then paste into a Word or other document; or take a photo with your mobile device.
- Repeat for any other semesters and courses.
- Course Survey App functionality: In addition to enhanced features and an improved user experience for students, the new Course Survey App will offer faculty access to generate summary reports from a menu of filters. We will provide workshops later this spring for you to get acquainted with the various report options.
- Support and assistance: Faculty Files Custodian, Matt Abrell, will continue to be available to assist faculty with generating reports from the new Course Survey App, (once the first semester’s student responses and instructor grades have been submitted).
Special thanks to our ITS team who developed, tested, and fine-tuned the new app, as well as offering four walk-through sessions for faculty late Fall and earlier this Spring semester. We appreciate their expertise and are partnering with them to make this transition process as smooth as possible.
Best regards,
Monica
